About the Scholarship

Dance Teachers Association scholarships are intended to assist individuals to carry out work in the field of dance. DTAN is proud to start a brand new scholarship in memory of Melissa Maynard Power, who had a huge impact on the dance community and was an active member of DTAN for over 20 years. Melissa had a passion for teaching dance and felt strongly about furthering her dance education. She travelled each year to attend dance workshops, conventions and seminars to stay inspired and gain a greater knowledge of dance to bring back to her students. The “Melissa Maynard Power” scholarship is for NL dance teachers looking to further their teaching credentials and training. This scholarship in the amount of up to $1000.00, may be used for course and/ or travel expenses.  

Please note: Only fully completed applications received by the scholarship session deadline (April 30th, 2025) will be considered in that scholarship session.
